The War between the Federation and Confederation is finally over. Death and Destruction was leveled on hundreds of worlds. Tens of thousands of veterans on both sides returned home to ruins. The veteran soldiers had to earn a living any way they could, and a number of them turned to using their guns, sometimes legal and sometimes not.

The Player Characters are professional gunfighters of various alien races (An Phar, Engai, Kronin, etc.) who answered an ad for gunfighters on the frontier planet of Kurosan IV back a year ago. The ad had been posted by Hawkins, a rich rancher on Kurosan IV, who wanted the PCs to work with his Gormelite henchmen to kill some innocent An Phar miners (so that Hawkins could steal their land claims). The PCs had refused, so Hawkins tried to have the PCs killed with a missile attack on their shuttle. To teach Hawkins a lesson about trying to kill professional gunfighters, the PCs killed Mr Hawkins’ 50+ Gormelite henchmen and destroyed his Ranch Villa, before gunning down Hawkins. Or at least they thought they got Hawkins.

Within the last day, the PCs have each received a cryptic message about Hawkins still being alive and that their help is needed on Kurosan IV. The message gave a meeting time (a week away) and location (the Titan Bar on Shimada Station) to get more information. None of the PCs like to leave a job incomplete.
